From my previous elementary school life, I've been told to do things based from the teaching and learning syllabus. The process occur naturally, the mother nature mad with us thus causing disasters. Learn science with the word natural phenomenon and many more. But when I enter my secondary school, it was totally different. The teachers relate all the subjects to the one and only ALLAH and his religion, Islam. Whenever it comes to science, we correct the word 'naturally' to ALLAH's permission. We even relates mathematics based from famous Islamic scholars and math founders. "There is no such thing in this world happen without ALLAH's permission. Even the sky, Sun and stars all follow ALLAH's obligation perfectly" a word phrase came out from one of my teachers mouth.
Then, in my college life, definitely it's totally different from secondary school life. Yeah right, I'm not in the right bi'ah, so it doesn't really help me a lot. My ESL studies or should I make it more specific, the extended response is one of the examples which teaches us to be more secular-thinker. You'll be given four articles and need to choose a side based from the question. Plus, you cannot relate it with other things that is not in the articles. And for real, from those 4 articles there is no connection with religion.
So, Malaysia's education system is more towards secular rather than teaching the true. I'm glad that my parents send me to a private school, Ma'had Attarbiyah Al-Islamiyah. Yes of course the main thing is to change the system. But the question that I should ask myself, "Am I a secular-thinker or not?"
P/S: I've been mixed up between these two things, need to muhasabah myself
